Week of August 28-September 1

 Math: Subtracting Multi-Digit Numbers
-I can analyze and model regrouping in addition and subtraction.
-I can subtract large multi-digit numbers.
-I can subtract across zeroes.
*Daily Math Test Friday*
--For weekly Daily Math Sheets click on the tab in the menu to the right. 
--Students should also be practicing their multiplication facts every night because we will have "sprints" throughout the week.*
 
Science: Cells (Life Science)
-I can identify that all living things are made of cells that perform functions necessary for life.
-I can compare basic structures of plant and animal cells.
 

Week of August 21-25

Math: Rounding & Adding and Subtracting Multi-Digit Numbers
-I can use place value understanding to round multi-digit whole numbers to any place.
-I can fluently add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm and explain what regrouping is really about.
*Students should be practicing their multiplication facts every night because we will have "sprints" throughout the week.*

Science: Life Science
-I can identify the 5 basic functions of all living things.
-I can identify that all living things are made of cells that perform functions necessary for life.
*We will study and observe the Solar Eclipse.*

Week of August 14-18

Math: Place Value
-I can interpret a multiplication equation as comparison.
-I can recognize a digit represents 10 times the value of what it represents in the place to its right.
-I can name numbers within 1 million by building understanding of the place value chart and placement of commas for naming base thousand units.
-I can read and write multi-digit numbers using base ten numerals, number names, and expanded form.
-I can continue to practice my multiplication facts.
 
Science: The Scientific Method and Intro to Life Science
-I can identify and apply the steps of the Scientific Method.
-I can examine the 5 basic functions of all living things.

Week of April 10-13

Math: Review
-I can review previously learned skills.
 
Science: Review
-I can identify different weather instruments.
-I can review previously learned skills.

Week of April 3-7

Math: Review
-I can review place value reasoning.
-I can review fraction concepts.
 
Science: Physical Science (Chapter 8)
-I can identify how magnets attract or repel one another.
-I can determine how an electrically charged material interacts with other objects.
-I can determine the path of an electrical current in a simple circuit.

Week of March 27-31

Math: Review
-I can recognize patterns when given a certain rule.
-I can write and solve single and multi-step equations to solve word problems.
-I can find factor pairs for numbers from 1 to 100.  
-I can contrast factors and multiples.
 
Science: Physical Science (Chapter 7)
-I can describe the position of an object.
-I can identify factors that influence the motion of an object. 
-I can determine the relationship between speed and distance traveled over time.
