When will it be – hours and days? 700-230
Why are we doing it? High school drives account for about 7,000 units per year of our total collections. This is also our main source of recruiting new donors. Our hope is that by introducing high school students to blood donation in a school environment, we can create lifelong donors who will continue to give blood at centers, church or their place of work later in life. Blood donation is also a great community service opportunity for both individual students and student groups. Many schools consider this a service learning opportunity since the process ties back into basic science of blood in biology.
