Town Administrator Chosen as PTA Lifetime Achievement Award Winner
Every year the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) honors individuals at their affiliated schools to recognize faithful and unselfish service to the betterment of children and teens in the community.
Town Administrator James Lewellen was recognized at the Tara Oaks PTA’s general meeting on February 25th as a recipient of the Tennessee Lifetime Achievement Award. (James is pictured receiving the award at the PTA meeting.)
“Mr. Lewellen has been very strategic in helping Tara Oaks Elementary with the process of getting rid of the old playground and configuring a new playground. The Tara Oaks Elementary PTA wanted to recognize him with the PTA Lifetime Achievement Award for his faithful and unselfish service rendered on behalf of the children and youth in Collierville,” said Mary Corson, PTA President Tara Oaks Elementary.
The Tennessee Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest award given; a selection committee is formed annually to determine the year's recipients. Vicki Curtis and Jana Blanchard were also selected as Lifetime Achievement Award winners for the 2015-16 school year.
