Hynes Named Next Principal of Tara Oaks Elementary by Superintendent Lilly

Dr. Gary Lilly names longstanding employee, Ms. Brandi Hynes as the next principal of Tara Oaks Elementary School. She will succeed Ms. Tricia Marshall, who is retiring at the end of June after a 42-year career in education, the last ten of which were spent as Tara Oaks Elementary’s third principal. Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten School Year 2021-22 Application Now Open

Voluntary Pre-K is an educational program that school districts may apply for on an annual basis and is funded by state and local funds. The purpose of the program is to provide your four-year-old child(ren), identified as being educationally and economically at-risk, with the access to a quality educational environment, in hopes of preparing he or she for future educational success. The program is of no cost to the parent(s)/caregiver(s).

2020-2021 Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Tara Oaks Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Darlene Rayburn! Mrs. Rayburn is currently a lead teacher in the Department of Exceptional Children. She has served in education for 23 years and we are so proud that she is a part of the Tara Oaks family!!

TCAP Testing Schedule Now Solidified for Collierville Schools

Collierville Schools is preparing to administer the TCAP Testing for the 2020-2021 school year. In preparation for testing, we want to ensure that all stakeholders are aware of the testing windows.

Given the need to accommodate all students, both in-person and Collierville Virtual Academy (CVA), testing will look a little different than historically.

Through a special partnership between the Tennessee Department of Education and the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation (GELF), starting in January, our district is excited to offer pre-K through 3 families] free access to Ready4K, a research-based text messaging program, that will help you continue your child’s learning at home.
